You could do owner or employee interviews, behind the scenes videos, photos of you, your business, your family, your ribbon cutting – anything that helps your fans learn your story and get to know you better. Fans like to connect with people much more than just connecting with a brand.
2. Use Video to Your Advantage

Generally speaking, it’s good to post 1-2 times per day on Facebook, between 2-5 times per day on Twitter. So, when reusing content you’ve created and previously posted, only share those posts between 1-3 times per week. However, if using fresh content, you can post between 1-3 times per day.
It’s also important, no matter which platform you’re posting to, that you stay consistent. It’s better to share less content that is consistent, than sharing more content that isn’t.
Think of your page as being like a TV channel. On TV people know which night their favorite shows are on, and they watch them consistently. Make your page like that, so that your fans will know exactly when you’ll be sharing new content – and they begin to anticipate that content.
4. Use Pictures Effectively
Make sure you use pictures effectively on your pages. As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So, what story are your pictures telling?
Make sure your pictures are well lit, clear, easy to understand, and that they literally draw a picture of what your brand is all about. Your pictures should showcase your brand and products.
When using stock images, make sure you use ones that are royalty free, even for business use. Some images are free for personal use, but not for professional use.
Also, when using stock images, try to find ones that look more “natural” or unique and not like the same stock images everyone in your industry is also using. This will help you stand out from the crowd.
5. Be the Expert and Thought Leader in Your Industry
Consumers like when you answer their questions and help solve their problems. This may include answering FAQ’s on your website or in a blog, sharing a “how to” video for your product or doing something related to your industry, sharing curated articles your customer base would be interested in or need to know, etc.
